History

I have always wanted to make my own equipment. For a while, I wanted to treat myself to bamboo poles, but I found them too expensive! So I started looking online for poles that I could modify myself. I came across Calcutta canes, a bamboo with very strong and flexible properties that I was looking for.
As for my first pair, I settled for buying classic stakes. I then sawed the poles, added threaded metal rods and red washers at the end.
I also equipped them with bicycle handles, as they were originally intended for ski touring, my favourite type of skiing, and therefore without straps. That's how I made my first pair of bamboo poles!
